Responsibilities:

• Setup and configuration of Linux servers and systems in conjunction with supporting open source software located in the CORESense private cloud.
• Manage and support remote fleet of Linux based point-of-sale machines
• Continued development and maintenance of automated scripts for environment configuration
• Research and troubleshoot environment issues to determine root cause
• Maintain systems and procedures in accordance with PCI compliance
• Perform rotational on-call duties
• Interact with clients as needed

Technical Competencies/Skills:

• Working knowledge of Linux based systems and architectures
• Strong background in Linux (Ubuntu preferred) system administration, shell scripting (Python and Bash preferred).
• Experience with NGINX web server installation, configuration, and support
• MySQL database administration (data integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking, replication, backup, connectivity and security)
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls and OpenVPN
• DNS, LDAP, Domain and SSL Certificate management
• Use of source control systems (Git preferred)
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting concepts/tools (Nagios preferred)

Experience/Education/Training/or Equivalent Combination:

• Bachelors in IT, Computers or relevant field
• 3 +  years running high volumes of Linux servers (even personal servers)
