Website Magazine recently did an article on comparison shopping engines and the benefits to online retailers. The article includes survey results on the top sites as well as consumer use of CSEs to find products they’re looking for. A little old but still quite relevant, this Blog post provides “22 Tips for Optimizing Comparison Shopping Feeds” based on the experience of Leigh Vosler from Sierra Trading Post. SmartMoney recently ran an article (targeted at consumers) reviewing the major shopping sites and helping consumers discern the best places to find deals on the products they’re looking for. The RetaileCommerce blog posted an item recently describing the overall benefits of comparison shopping engines. To prove the value, the post includes a number of keyword searches and shows the shopping sites that come up within the first few pages of search results. We don’t currently support MSN (which is number six, ahead of Google Base) but we nail the rest.
