PowerSellers Across Industries Increase Sales, Lower Operating Costs with CORESense
NEW ORLEANS , Louisiana, June 25, 2004 - CORESense, Inc., a leading provider of retail management software, today announced that several leading eBay PowerSellers™, including European Automotive Specialists, Rational Fashion and TNG Enterprises, have selected the CORESense retail management solution to power their multi-channel sales activities. These retailers are following in the footsteps of IkeSound.com, 3balls.com and other PowerSellers who already have realized an increase in sales revenues and a reduction in operating costs since deploying with CORESense.
A demonstration of the CORESense solution can be seen at the eBay Live! 2004 Community Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, June 24 – 26 in booth #328.
The explosive eBay economy has led hundreds of thousands of small and midsize businesses to add the popular auction site as a key channel in their multi-pronged sales strategy. But for many retailers, making the move from a single sales channel, such as a physical store front or proprietary web site, to a multi-channel approach that includes eBay, can be a difficult transition. Often times these companies lack the human and financial resources necessary to facilitate this change. Those retailers that do have the infrastructure or capital frequently find that traditional technology solutions are incomplete and address only a single sales channel or are too complex for their needs. The combination of these issues has prompted software vendors to introduce a new breed of retail management solutions designed specifically for the multi-channel retailer.
“ Aberdeen’s current multi-channel research confirms that meeting the expectations of today’s empowered buyer is the key driver of demand for end-to-end multi-channel retail management systems – for both enterprises and smaller selling organizations. Today’s winning sales strategies must leverage the increasingly significant role that the online channel plays in educating and servicing the multi-channel customer,” said Kent Allen, Research Director at Aberdeen Group. “Our research highlights that the number one challenge facing organizations in the consumer product distribution ecosystem is the need to integrate all customer touch points. Whether a transaction is initiated online, over the phone, or in a store or showroom is less important than offering customers the purchasing and fulfillment flexibility they now increasingly expect.”
CORESense is addressing this need with a web-based retail management software solution that enables PowerSellers and other small and midsized businesses to execute multi-channel sales strategies. With a growing number of the top PowerSellers now using CORESense, the company is rapidly gaining momentum as the clear leader in its market category.
Selling products as diverse as gear for paintball enthusiasts and high-end specialty automotive products, the top PowerSellers are leveraging CORESense to expand sales opportunities and streamline operations. CORESense solutions bring together inventory and supplier management, order fulfillment, customer relationship management, promotions and analytics in a single, web-based application for multi-channel retailing that can include eBay.
The results thus far have been extraordinary. Car audio electronics retailer IkeSound.com has saved nearly $90 thousand in employee resources since deploying with CORESense, while simultaneously increasing sales by more than 15 percent. Meanwhile, used and like-new golf equipment retailer 3balls.com has grown its revenue by more than 30 percent, with only minimal additions to its inventory management, fulfillment and customer service staff. The latest PowerSellers to adopt CORESense are expecting to achieve similar results very quickly.
“We needed a system that would act as the backbone to our entire operation, not just eBay activities, but a solution to span multiple sales channels and various back-end processes. A number of companies offered partial technology solutions, but none had a complete system – that is, until we found CORESense. Based on the success other companies have had implementing CORESense, we’re not surprised they are becoming the standard for end-to-end multi-channel retail management,” said Bill Willis, President of European Automotive Specialists, an automotive aftermarket parts retailer. “When you are a growing company, like we are, every business decision is an important one. Perhaps none is more critical than the technology platform on which you choose to run your business. We feel very confident that selecting CORESense is one decision we will not regret.”
“We were first an eBay business only. I like the fact that I can integrate our own web site and the eBay sales channel into one system capable of managing all the inventory that we sell on both channels. We decided to pursue a multi-channel sales strategy partly because not everyone is an eBay user, and particularly for advertising purposes, we really wanted to brand our own web site,” said Josh Mohrer, founder of Rational Fashion, a provider of designer clothing and accessories. “Since deploying with CORESense I’ve been able to reduce by more than 50 percent the amount of time I have to devote to things like order processing, setting up repeating auctions for products that we have in great supply, and attending to problem orders. That frees me up to focus on other parts of my business that are just as vital, such as marketing and advertising. Also with CORESense I’ve been able to integrate directly with an external order fulfillment company. CORESense has really helped me to grow my business and as a result I’m looking forward to increases in revenue this year.”
“A key reason for choosing CORESense is its flexibility. We sell on Yahoo and eBay, as well as a new puzzle-specific web site, a bricks-and-mortar retail store we opened in September, and beginning in July, we’ll add three additional specialty web sites. This year we’re projecting about 1,500 orders per day at peak season, so we needed a retail management system that would be capable of managing multiple channels and all the associated activities, including picking slips, inventory and purchase orders,” said Frank Schiebler, vice president of TNG Enterprises, a retailer of unique, quality name-brand games and puzzles. “We set a goal of $1.5 million in sales this year. Eighty percent of our business is generated in the fourth quarter. CORESense is an integral part of our strategy to hit that goal.”
“CORESense is solving a critical need among retailers, including PowerSellers: to integrate sales activities from a channel with those of products sold through other business channels, such as eBay, and to manage all of these activities in a consistent and productive manner,” said Jason Jacobs, CORESense CEO. “CORESense has been successful in attracting new customers because these companies recognize the valuable contributions we’ve made to the businesses of other retailers. For end-to-end retail management and multi-channel sales, no other solution provides the level of enterprise-class system to the small and midsized market like CORESense does.”
