System Adminstrator/IT

Job Description
We are seeking a qualified System Administrator to manage the CORESense hosted server environment for our clients while maximizing stability and scalability of our mission critical application. The System Adminstrator will be a key member of the IT/Hosting team and will have responsibilities for server administration as well as software packaging and release. This position is also responsible for documentation as new processes are uncovered or new technology is implemented. This position reports to the Director of Products and Infrastructure. Reports to: Director of Qualty Assurance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assuring proper setup of GNU/Linux servers
  • Maintenance of existing GNU/Linux server environments
  • Maintenance of Linux/Cisco production network environment
  • Directing vendors and staff on Linux/OS X/Windows desktop support
  • Leadership and Maintenance of Debian software packages for CORESense software
  • Provide Thought Leadership on all technologies and products used by CORESense
  • Initiative and ability to research problems independently and find the root cause.
  • Interacts with clients as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors in IT, Computers or relevant field
  • 5 + years running high volumes of Linux servers (even personal servers)
  • Strong knowledge of Network configuration
  • Regular Linux/BSD desktop use
  • Prior experience guiding technology product selection, system design, and implementation activities
  • GNU/Linux server competency (primarily Debian, some RedHat)
  • GNU/Linux desktop competency (Ubuntu)
  • Network competency (Cisco and Linux routing, bridging and load balancing)
  • PHP/Apache environment configuration
  • MySQL administration, including replication
  • Use of source control systems
  • PHP programming and MySQL database structure design/evaluation experience desired.
  • Experience with blade servers a plus
