Vice President of Software Development

Job Description
CORESense, Inc. is a leading provider of SaaS, retail and ecommerce software solutions that enable small to mid-sized retailers to compete and win against big box retailers. We are looking for a VP of Product Development to oversee the design, development and support of the CORESense web-based application suite.
Responsibilities:
  • Planning and strategic development for the Product Development department
  • Oversee all activities of the Development group and off-shore development partners
  • Planning with the VP of Products, the overall architecture of our product and support infrastructure including day-to-day operations
  • Implementing and developing an agile methodology for the design, development, test and release of our products and features.
  • Establishing departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and issues in the software-as-a-service industry, including current technologies, platforms, standards organizations and methodologies
  • Supervising recruitment and retention policies within the department
  • Defining and communicating corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and designing new software products
  • Participating in the strategic business and product planning process
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years leading development for a software-as-a-service company
  • 5+ years director-level or higher leading software development for a retail, ecommerce or enterprise application provider
  • Direct experience with Agile methods for development
  • Retail or ecommerce software experience highly desirable
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred, Masters is a plus
